Monster

Another movie to watch to gain more insight about some of things Black people and people of color go through is the movie Monster.

Early in the movie, the main character, a 17 year old Black male, is meeting with a lawyer as he is accused of murder. The lawyer gets called out of the meeting and offered a deal - 20 years in prison. She says he didn't do it, and that he's a good kid with great parents. "He's not who you think he is," she says to him.

"He looks the part to me," the man says back.

The young boy gets discriminated against throughout the entirety of his case. It does a good job of showcasing what it's like for people of color that get wrongly accused of crimes because they "look the part" as stated in the movie.

It's hard to get the justice when the color of your skin automatically makes you guilty.
